Thomas Vesting (* 1958 in Detmold ) is a German legal scholar .

Life

Vesting studied law and political science at the University of Tübingen from 1979 to 1983 ; In 1983 he also passed his first state law examination there.

With Ulrich K. Preuß at the University of Bremen , he received his PhD in 1989 with a thesis on the formation of political unity and technical implementation. jur. PhD . He completed his legal clerkship in 1991 with the second state examination in law, after which he worked as a research assistant at the Hans Bredow Institute for Radio and Television at the University of Hamburg until 1994 . From 1994 to 1996 he was visiting professor at the HU Berlin . 1996 habilitation vesting at Wolfgang Hoffmann-Riem at Hamburg University with a thesis on procedural Broadcasting and received the teaching license of Constitutional and Administrative Law and Legal Theory .

From the winter semester 1996/97 to the summer semester 2002 he held the chair for public law , legal theory, media and telecommunications law at the University of Augsburg ; since the winter semester of 2002 he has held the chair for public law, law and media theory at the University of Frankfurt am Main .
