Thomas Vogt (clergyman)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Johann Thomas Vogt (born December 19, 1766 in Schwäbisch Gmünd , † October 15, 1825 in Rottenburg am Neckar ) was a clergyman and theological writer.

From 1794 to 1798 he was a public teacher at the German school in Gmünd. The celebrated pulpit speaker worked as a chaplain in Schwäbisch Gmünd and was appointed as Regens to the episcopal seminary in Rottenburg in 1825 .

Johann Gottfried Pahl expresses himself very benevolently in his memoirs (p. 147f.) About the enlightened cleric.

Collections of his sermons and a prayer book that has been published several times appeared in print at Pahl's suggestion (mostly in Schwäbisch Gmünd by Johann Georg Ritter ). Today there are still 14 writings in the Südwestverbund , mainly in the Württemberg State Library in Stuttgart.
