Thomas Vormbaum

Thomas Vormbaum (born June 18, 1943 in Münster ) is a German lawyer and has been a professor of criminal law , criminal procedural law and contemporary legal history at the Fernuniversität Hagen since 1994 .

Live and act

Thomas Vormbaum studied law, history and political science at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster and at the Julius Maximilians University in Würzburg . He passed his first state examination in law in 1969 at the Hamm Higher Regional Court and the second state examination in 1973. He then obtained his doctorate in Münster. iur. 1975 and Dr. phil. 1979 He completed his habilitation in 1985.

At the Fernuniversität Hagen he conducts research in the field of criminal law and criminal procedural law, contemporary legal history, in particular on the methodological issues of contemporary legal history, the history of criminal law in the 19th and 20th centuries and in the field of criminal law on the judiciary offenses and testimony offenses.

He was dean of the Faculty of Law and has held other duties in the Faculty. In the winter semester 2009/2010 he was a visiting professor at the University of Bologna .
