The Sinninger Badesee is a quarry pond in Sinningen , a suburb of Kirchberg an der Iller and on the Filzinger district in Upper Swabia .

description

The lake is located on the Iller , near the federal highway 7 . It was created in the 1970s as part of the gravel extraction for the new construction of the Ulm-Memmingen-Kempten motorway section. In the years that followed, the quarry pond was transformed into a bathing lake with a lawn for sunbathing. There is a campsite at the southern end .

The following fish species can be found in the Sinninger bathing lake:

Diving

The diving is only allowed on the lake's western shore. If you dive in the direction of 150 degrees from the diving entrance , you reach an artificial skeleton, called " Boiner Joe ", at a depth of six meters after about five minutes . The visibility in the water varies between three and ten meters. The number of divers is limited to a maximum of 25 people.

On September 3, 2011, an microlight crashed into the lake. The flight passenger was fatally injured in the crash. The pilot survived the crash.
