Thomas Weiner (born March 25, 1957 in Pirmasens ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament .

Life and work

After graduating from high school in 1976, Weiner completed a degree in economics and political science at Saarland University in Saarbrücken , which he completed in 1983 with a degree in economics. He then worked as a commercial clerk at the IVD brokerage firm Dr. Weiner Immobilien GmbH . From 1991 to 2009 he was their managing director and co-partner.

Thomas Weiner is married and has five children.

Political party

Even as a schoolboy, Weiner became a member of the Junge Union in 1971 and the CDU in 1974. Since 1976 he has been a member of the CDU district executive in Pirmasens.

MP

Weiner has been a member of the city ​​council of his hometown Pirmasens since 1980 .

Since 1996 he has been a member of the State Parliament of Rhineland-Palatinate . He has always entered the state parliament as a directly elected member of the Pirmasens constituency . In the state elections in 2006, he received 42.1% of the first votes . He was able to successfully defend the constituency in the 2011 and 2016 state elections. In the state parliament he is chairman of the committee for economy and transport and represents Rhineland-Palatinate on the board of trustees of the University of Applied Sciences Kaiserslautern-Zweibrücken-Pirmasens .
