Athletic career

Zwingel began playing football at Frankonia Nürnberg before moving to the youth department of 1. FC Nürnberg . There he made his debut for the adult amateur team, which was playing in the third- tier Bayernliga . While this was relegated to fourth division at the end of the 1986/87 season as the bottom of the table, Zwingel dared the leap into professional football and joined the Bundesliga relegated Blau-Weiß 90 Berlin . In the second division season 1987/88 he came to two appearances in the 2. Bundesliga, then he returned in the summer of 1988 to the Glubberern and played for them in the fourth division national league . From there he moved to league rivals SpVgg Fürth after a season . As a regular player he recommended himself again for higher tasks, again after only one season he moved on and returned to the Bayern League. There he ran for two seasons for Türk Gücü Munich .

In the summer of 1992 Zwingel switched back to professional football when he joined SpVgg Unterhaching . With the second division promoted, however, he missed relegation at the end of the second division season 1992/93 after 46 match days with one point behind the last non-relegation place occupied by FC St. Pauli . After the end of the 1993/94 season , which he had finished with the Munich suburb club as third in the table, he moved to league rivals FC Augsburg , who had also qualified for the Regionalliga Süd . Here, however, he was no longer a permanent regular player, so that after only one season he moved back to home and joined TSV Vestenbergsgreuth. From 1996 he ran for the state division SC 04 Schwabach , with whom he rose to the Bayern League in 1998. There he ended his active career in 2003.

Zwingel later worked as a trainer for the amateur clubs TSV Wassermungenau and SV Barthelmesaurach .
