Thomas vom Bruch (born June 26, 1961 in Bremen ) is a German educator and was a State Councilor ( CDU ) in Bremen from 2001 to 2007 . Since 2011 he has been a member of the Bremen Parliament .

biography

Family, education and work

After graduating from high school Horn in Bremen, von Bruch studied pedagogy, political science and human resources at the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Hamburg from 1980 . He received his doctorate as Dr. phil. After twelve years in the German Armed Forces, he was an officer, and two more years of research and teaching at the University of the German Armed Forces, he moved in 1994 to the post of department head of a large Hamburg brewery.

After 2007 vom Bruch became a freelance personnel consultant and political deputy of the education deputation of the Bremen citizenship .

Vom Bruch is married and has two children. He lives in Bremen - Oberneuland .

politics

Vom Bruch is a member of the CDU Bremen . From 1995 to 1997 he was a research assistant for the Bremen CDU parliamentary group in the fields of education, science, culture and sport. In 1997 he became managing director of the CDU parliamentary group in the Bremen citizenship.

From 2001 to 2007 von Bruch was a State Councilor at the Senator for Interior, Culture and Sport as a representative of Interior Senator Kuno Böse (CDU), whom he followed in the State Council. After the end of the grand coalition in Bremen, his activity as State Councilor ended, most recently with Senator Thomas Röwekamp (CDU).

He is deputy chairman of the CDU city district association Oberneuland and a member of the CDU state committee in Bremen. He headed the CDU commission for the basic program of the Bremen state association. At the Volksbund Deutsche Kriegsgräberfürsorge , Landesverband Bremen, he is the deputy state chairman.

In the 18th legislative period, he was a member of the Bremen citizenship and education policy spokesman for his parliamentary group. At the end of 2012 he was elected deputy chairman of the CDU parliamentary group from 2013. In the election on May 10, 2015, von Bruch was not directly re-elected to the Bremen citizenship. After Elisabeth Motschmann , the CDU's top candidate for the Bremen citizenship election, waived her mandate , vom Bruch is now a member of the Bremen citizenship in the 19th legislative period.

He was represented in the Committee for Integration, Federal and European Affairs, International Contacts and Development Cooperation, in the Works Committee Performa North, in the Works Committee for the Bremen City Library and Bremen Adult Education Center and in the Constitutional and Rules Committee, Chairman of the Committee for Combating and Preventing Poverty and Social Division as well Member and speaker of the state and municipal deputation for education.
