Thore Ehrling
Thore Olof Gottfrid Ehrling (born December 29, 1912 in Stockholm ; † October 21, 1994 in Lidingö ) was a Swedish jazz trumpeter , composer, arranger and band leader as well as music publishing director.
Live and act
Thore Ehrling formed a jazz band when he was still at school. From 1931 to 1935 he studied at the Stockholm Kungliga Music Conservatory , then worked from 1920 to 1930 in the bands of Håkan von Eichwald and Charles Redland and formed his own formation in 1938, which he expanded into a big band by 1940 and which existed until 1956. In 1936 he was also a sideman at a record session with Benny Carter when he recorded the track " Some of These Days " on September 12, 1936 with the Swedish Sonora Swing Band for the Sonora label .
Ehrling recorded over 1000 records between 1932 and 1972 and worked as a composer of film scores. Well-known titles were En månskenspromenad , Regntunga skyar and Ole dole doff . In 1941 he founded the music publishing house Ehrling & Löfvenholm (since 1952 as Thore Ehrling Musik AB ) Ehrling worked for Swedish radio and headed the Radiotjänsts dansorkester . From 1959 to 1960 he was the conductor of the Melodifestivalen on Swedish television.
