Thorolf Lipp

Thorolf Lipp (born January 25, 1973 in Bielefeld ) is a German documentary filmmaker and ethnologist .

Life

Lipp was at the 2007 Bayreuth University in anthropology and religious studies with an ethnographic dissertation on the diving of Sa on the island of Pentecost / Vanuatu doctorate . He taught ethnology and media anthropology at the universities of Münster , Göttingen , Bayreuth , FU Berlin , Mainz , Zeppelin University Friedrichshafen, University of Vienna , USP Suva (Fiji) and at the City Varsity Johannesburg. For the 2011/12 winter semester, he was appointed to the Gutenberg Lehrkolleg guest lecturer at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. His scientific work focuses on the areas of visual and media anthropology, theory and history of non- fictional film , media adaptation of intangible cultural heritage , and myth and ritual theory.

As the owner of Arcadia Filmproduktion, he produces TV documentaries , documentaries , cross-media projects and museum media .

Thorolf Lipp is a board member of the documentary film working group , 2nd chairman of the Federal Association of Freelance Ethnologists eV, chairman of the Forum German-Pacific Encounters eV , spokesman for the German Media Council for Film, Broadcasting and Audiovisual Media and a member of the cultural heritage committee of the German Cultural Council . Lipp is the spokesman for the awarding committee of the VG Bild-Kunst cultural work (BG III).
