Thorsten Burkhardt (* 21st May 1981 in Bonn ) is a German football - midfielder .
Career
In his youth, Burkhardt played for small clubs in North Rhine-Westphalia. In 1999 he moved to the second team at Bayer 04 Leverkusen , for which he played in the major and regional leagues until 2002.
In the 2001/02 season he was temporarily in the squad of the first team from Leverkusen, but was not used. Leverkusen reached the finals of the Champions League and the DFB Cup this season and became German runner-up. Officially, Burkhardt was thus Champions League runner-up, DFB Cup runner-up and German runner-up in the 2001/02 season.
In 2002 he switched to the second division SpVgg Greuther Fürth on loan , and the Fürth officially signed him a year later. He scored six goals in 76 games for Fürth.
In 2005 he moved to the second division club SV Wacker Burghausen , with whom he played in the second division for the next two years and was relegated in 2007. For the 2007/08 season he moved back to Greuther Fürth. On the sixth day of play against Aachen (2-0), he was the first second division player of the season to hit the post twice with a shot on goal. On March 1st, 2009 Thorsten Burkhardt celebrated an anniversary. He played his 100th competitive game in a row. On April 24, 2009 Thorsten Burkhardt played his 200th game in the 2nd Bundesliga.
On June 2, 2009, Alemannia Aachen signed the free Burkhardt for three years from the 2009/10 season. After a serious ankle injury in April 2010 with syndesmosis and subsequent surgery, he missed the entire first half of the 2010/11 season. In the 2011/12 season Thorsten Burkhardt moved to third division club SV Wehen Wiesbaden , but also only made nine league appearances there due to injury. After starting for the Wiesbaden Reserve in the Hessenliga the following season, Burkhardt moved to Wacker Burghausen in January 2013 , where he spent the following year and a half. Thorsten Burkhardt has been playing for the Upper Bavarian district classist TV 1864 Altötting since June 2016 .
