Thorsten Daniel (born April 12, 1971 ) is a former German soccer player .
Athletic career
Thorsten Daniel played in the youth of SG Wattenscheid 09, for whose amateur team he played from the late 1980s. In 1990 he moved with the team as second in the table of the Southwest Relegation of the Association League Westphalia in the relegation to the Oberliga Westfalen , but missed against 1. FC Recklinghausen despite a 1-0 win over Hammer SpVg , in which he scored the decisive goal promotion to the third division. The rise succeeded two years later. In the Bundesliga season 1992/93 he temporarily moved up to the professional team under coach Hans Bongartz . He played his first of seven games in the Bundesliga on September 1, 1992 against Dynamo Dresden , the game was lost 2-1. After a coach change to Frank Hartmann in the spring of 1994 and relegation in the summer of that year, he did not come to the professional team of the club, but with the amateur team he qualified for the newly introduced regional league .
In 1996, after the Wattenscheider amateurs had been relegated from the regional league, Daniel moved to the top division competitor Sportfreunde Siegen for a year . Despite the regional league promotion, he moved on to Hasper SV . After the 1997/98 season he moved to the top division DJK TuS Hordel, where he stayed until 2002.
