Having grown up in football at SV Groß-Bieberau, Thorsten Flick played for two years at SV Darmstadt 98 when he was still young and joined Eintracht Frankfurt in 1993 . In 1994, having outgrown his youth, he moved into the professional squad of Eintracht. His first appearance in the professional squad was in the UEFA Cup quarter-finals against Juventus Turin (final score 1-1). He made his Bundesliga debut at the age of 18 on March 4, 1995. There were eight more games until the end of the season. Now and then he was also used in the amateur team in the Oberliga Hessen. Until 1998, however, he could not prevail in the Bundesliga team and was in October 1998 for Napoli , then Serie B , loaned. In 1999 he left Italy again and signed a contract with 1. FC Saarbrücken . The ambitious Saarlanders, who wanted to move up to the second division with coach Klaus Toppmöller , which they finally achieved, left Flick in September. Shortly afterwards he joined VfB Oldenburg (Regionalliga Nord). Here he was a regular player, but the team lost almost every game and was relegated at the end of the table with only 14 points. His time here ended in February. In April 2000 Viktoria Aschaffenburg was his third station in the 1999/2000 season. 2000/01 he played in Hungary for the first division club Debreceni VSC . This was his last senior position. He then played in Germany for the amateur clubs KSV Klein-Karben , SV Erzhausen and Germania Ober-Roden (twice).
