Thorsten Nehrbauer (born January 12, 1978 in Bonn ) is a German football coach and former player. From the 2019/20 season he will be under contract with Bonner SC .

Career

Nehrbauer began as a youth player at Bonner SC . There his talent was discovered by Bayer 04 Leverkusen and he moved to the Bundesliga club in 1991. In Leverkusen Nehrbauer became a U-21 national player (13 games, 2 goals between 1997 and 1999) and in the 1997/98 season he was in the professional squad of Bayer 04 Leverkusen, which took 3rd place in the Bundesliga . However, he was not used during the season and moved to Fortuna Düsseldorf in the 2nd Bundesliga , where he scored one goal in 25 games.

After relegation was missed, Nehrbauer first went to Bundesliga promoted Arminia Bielefeld. Without being used there, he switched back to the 2nd Bundesliga for 1. FSV Mainz 05 during the first half of the season . Here he was able to fight for a regular place towards the end of his first season, which he lost towards the end of the second season. Therefore, he went to the then second division Hannover 96 in 2001 . In the first season he came on 19 missions, where he only played two games over the full game and was substituted on 16 times. After promotion to the first division, however, he only played two games: against Hansa Rostock on matchday 7 of the 2002/03 season he was substituted on in the 87th minute, and a week later against Borussia Dortmund in the 88th minute.

From 2003 the player who was active in midfield was under contract with 1. FC Saarbrücken . In the team that initially competed in the Regionalliga Süd , he initially had a regular place. He lost this on the 7th matchday when he was sent off in the game against Kickers Offenbach . Towards the middle of the season, Nehrbauer fought back his place in the starting eleven and was able to celebrate promotion. The following season he played 21 games in the 2nd Bundesliga, and scored his only goal of the season against MSV Duisburg . 2005/06 he came to 32 games and missed the other two games of the season, as he was awarded twice with yellow-red. Even after relegation, Nehrbauer was a regular. Only after his red card on the 4th matchday did the club have to do without Nehrbauer.

For the 2007/08 season Nehrbauer moved to Kickers Emden in the Regionalliga Nord . After Emden withdrew voluntarily into the league after the 2008/09 season for licensing reasons, he left the club. In the fall of 2009 he received the right to play for the Regionalliga West promoted Bonner SC, his home club, for which he competed without pay until the winter break of the 2009/10 season. In the first game after his commitment on October 17, 2009 against VfL Bochum II , he was in the starting lineup. During the winter break of the season he moved to TSV Germania Windeck .

After a short guest appearance as player-coach of the first team of TuS Homburg-Bröltal in the district league, Nehrbauer was introduced in January 2014 as the coach of 1. FC Kaan-Marienborn , which was playing in the Westphalia league at the time. With this he won the district cup in 2014, 2016 and 2017. In the 2015/16 season he and his team were promoted to the Oberliga Westfalen, followed by promotion to the Regionalliga West in 2018 . After the end of the 2018/19 season, he left the club.

For the 2019/20 season he joined the Bonner SC .
