Thorsten Riemke-Gurzki

Thorsten Riemke-Gurzki (* 1971 in Stuttgart ) has been professor for web technologies, especially corporate portals and usability , at the Stuttgart Media University since 2008 .

Life

Thorsten Riemke-Gurzki worked after his computer science diploma as a research assistant at the then Institute for Parallel and Distributed High Performance Computers (IPVR) at the University of Stuttgart with computer networks. In Stuttgart he taught Internet usage and technologies early in the 1990s, including at the Merz Academy in Stuttgart .

After moving to the Institute for Ergonomics and Technology Management at the University of Stuttgart and later to Fraunhofer IAO , he dealt with cross-media publishing and media companies, from which he came to the topics of company portals and business process management . He began his doctorate to become a Dr.-Ing. initially with Hans-Jörg Bullinger and finished it in 2006 after Bullinger moved to the board of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft with Dieter Spath.

He played a key role in developing the Fraunhofer Portal Analysis and Design Method ( PADEM ) and led numerous projects in this area. At SAP Germany he was responsible for many projects in the areas of ERP and portals. Riemke-Gurzki worked as a freelance lecturer and consultant for many years.

Riemke-Gurzki has been teaching the E-Services course at the Stuttgart Media University since 2008 , which was renamed Online Media Management in 2011. He heads the research focus Business Process & IT Engineering at the Institute for Applied Research at the university. He is considered one of the leading experts for web technologies, especially company portals, and web-based business processes in German-speaking countries.

Thorsten Riemke-Gurzki has been Director of the Global Institute for Digital Transformation (gidt) at the Stuttgart Media University since 2015.
