Thorsten Siegel

Thorsten Siegel (* 1967 ) is a German lawyer and professor of public law , especially administrative law , at the Free University of Berlin .

Career

From 1989 Siegel studied law at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg , where he passed his first state examination in 1994. In 1996 he passed the second state examination in law. He then worked as a lawyer in Neustadt / Wstr. and Andernach active. From 1998 to 2000 he was a research assistant at the German Research Institute for Public Administration Speyer (FÖV) , where he worked on a research project on general administrative law. In 2000 he received his doctorate from the German University for Administrative Sciences Speyer . From 2001 he was acting institute assistant at the German Research Institute for Public Administration Speyer. Since 2002 Siegel was a research officer at the FÖV and worked on a research project in the field of public procurement law . In 2008, Jan Ziekow received his habilitation and he received the license to teach in the subjects of public law, European law and administrative science . He then took on visiting professorships at the Saarland University as well as substitute professorships at the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz University in Hanover , at the University of Potsdam and at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich .

Siegel has been a professor at the Free University of Berlin since 2013. From 2015 to 2017, Siegel was managing director of the academic institution for public law at the Free University of Berlin. Since 2016 Siegel has organized the "Berlin Concession Law Days" annually.

Editorships

Siegel is co-editor of the magazine “Verwaltungsarchiv” and the series of publications “Contributions to Public Procurement Law” (with Jan Ziekow ) published by Duncker & Humblot .
