Thorsten Winkelmann

Thorsten Winkelmann is a German political scientist at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg with a focus on South Africa as well as infrastructure and local politics .

Life

After graduating from high school, Winkelmann studied political science from 2000 to 2006 and from 2004 economics at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg. From 2006 to 2012 he obtained his doctorate in philosophy at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg under Roland Sturm with the grade summa cum laude with a thesis on public private partnerships . In 2012 he received the Staedtler Foundation's PhD award.
