Three Mile Bay is a place in the United States . It belongs to the Town of Lyme and Jefferson County in the state of New York , United States . Three Mile Bay has 227 inhabitants (as of 2010).
The place is on the shores of Chaumont Bay on the east bank of Lake Ontario at the northeastern end of a narrow arm of the lake, which is called as the place Three Mile Bay .
The settlement was established between 1810 and 1820 during the early land grabbing by European settlers. In 1852 a station of the Rome, Watertown and Ogdensburg Railroad (RW&O) was built here; During the heyday of the place between around 1850 and 1900 around 500 inhabitants settled here. The place was almost completely destroyed by a fire in 1877.
