Thutmose , also Djehutimes , Djehutimessu or Djehutimose , was the firstborn son of the king ( Pharaoh ) Amenophis III. and his Great Royal Wife Teje . Because of his early death, his brother Akhenaten later took over the office of king as heir to the throne.

His royal titles can be found on his cat's sarcophagus : “ Setem priest ”, “Prince”, “Overseer of the priests of Upper and Lower Egypt” and “High priest of Ptah ” in Memphis .

The sarcophagus of his cat Ta-miat , also Ta-miaut (translated: "the cat"), found near Memphis in 1892 , is now in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo . Prince Thutmose appears with his father on a relief from the Serapeum in Saqqara , where he was preparing the burial of an Apis animal.

His death

Thutmose probably died in the last third of his father's reign.
