The Tieflimauer (also Tuiflmauer) is a mountain with a height of 1820 m above sea level. A. in the Gesäuse National Park , Ennstal Alps . It is located in the middle of the 10 km long ridge of the Buchstein group , which stretches between the Tamischbachturm ( 2035 m above sea level near Hieflau ) in the east and the Great Buchstein plateau ( 2224 m above sea level ) in the west. To the east lies the Ennstaler Hütte between the Tieflimauer and the Tamischbachturm . To the west, the ridge continues from the Tieflimauer into the rocky peaks of the Wolfzähne , which lead to the Kleiner and Großer Buchstein.
The low wall has the shape of a curved wall, which slopes steeply on both sides with wall heights of about 250 to 300 m. Your name is probably derived from the Teufelsmauer .
Climbs
The best way to get to the Tieflimauer is via the Ennstaler Hütte, walking time 1½ hours from Ennstaler Hütte, difficulty I on the normal route (from the east).
From the Ennstaler Hut, a via ferrata built in 2002 leads through the south face to the Tieflimauer, the Teufelsteig . The total length of 440 meters shows degrees of difficulty A and B, and C in 2 places . The journey time is around 2½ hours.
An easy climbing route leads over the west ridge ( difficulty III ), other routes are partly very fragile.
