The Tamischbach tower is a 2035  m above sea level. A. high mountain in the Ennstal Alps in Styria . It is the second highest mountain in the Buchstein group , i.e. the Gesäuse Mountains north of the Enns , and is located in the Gesäuse National Park . The Tamischbachturm is considered to be one of the technically easiest two-thousanders in the Gesäuse and a rewarding panoramic mountain.

Climbs

  • The easiest ascent (marked hiking trail) leads from the Ennstaler Hütte over the west ridge to the summit in about 1½ hours . This path is an ascent path for ski tourers in winter.
  • A marked path leads from Hieflau over the south ridge to the summit, here more than 1500 meters of altitude have to be overcome. The south ridge can also be reached via a forest road (mountain bike route) from Gstatterboden to the Hochplattenalm.
  • The summit can also be climbed unmarked via the ridge from the Buttensattel in the east; a rock ramp below the summit requires good surefootedness (level of difficulty I).
  • The climbing routes on the approx. 1000 m high north face are very rarely used because of the poor quality of the rock.
