An Sohee (born June 27, 1992 in Seoul ) is a South Korean actress and singer . From 2007 to December 2013, she was a member of JYP Entertainment's girl group Wonder Girls . Since leaving the group, she has focused on acting.

Life

An Sohee was born on June 27, 1992 in Seoul.

Wonder Girls

She auditioned for JYP Entertainment and became a trainee there at the age of 12. In 2007 she made her debut in the girl group Wonder Girls . The group quickly achieved high levels of popularity and notoriety through their hit songs Tell Me , So Hot and Nobody . In 2009 the group tried its hand at the American market. There the single Nobody reached number 76 on the Billboard charts . This made the Wonder Girls the first Korean group to make it into the charts. The group was no longer as present on the South Korean market and despite the initial success, the breakthrough in the USA did not succeed.

In 2013, the contract between JYP Entertainment and An was not renewed and so she finally left the group.

Acting career

From then on, An concentrated on her acting career. Already during her time with the Wonder Girls she played in film and television. She first signed with BH Entertainment. However, their success was initially very muted. In 2015, she scored a major role in the television series Heart to Heart in the role of the protagonist's little sister and aspiring actress and had a cameo in the film C'est si bon . The same year she was nominated for the zombie film Train to Busan from Yeon Sang-ho cast , which premiered at the International Film Festival of Cannes in 2016 celebrated.

In September 2015 she left BH Entertainment and signed with KeyEast. She was also selected in a leading role for the South Korean adaptation of the US television series Entourage and landed the female supporting role alongside Lee Byung-hun and Gong Hyo-jin in the mystery thriller Single Rider by Warner Bros. , which was released in late 2016 Australia is filmed.
