The zoo , leisure and dinosaur park Germendorf is a zoo with an attached dinosaur park, in which life-size replicas of dinosaurs are. There is also an area with rides mostly geared towards children and pony rides . The park is located in the Oranienburg district of Germendorf . In addition to smaller and native animals, exotic animals such as zebras , eland and alpacas are kept. There is also a petting zoo with goats that can be entered. The zoo is home to a total of 650 animals. There are also several lakes with bathing areas on the grounds of the park, as well as separate bathing areas for children and dogs. With a total area of ​​69 hectares, of which 14 hectares are in the open-air enclosure, the Germendorf zoo is one of the largest of its kind in the greater Berlin area . The lake area was created as an excavation pit during the construction of the Berlin-Rostock motorway. In 1992, the construction of the zoo began, which was granted zoo approval in 2002. The dinosaur park has been on the site since 2009. The park's founder is the former Mayor of Germendorf, Horst Eichholz. Until 2014, profits from gravel mining were invested in the park.

Every year around 400,000 guests visit the park, mostly families with children.
