Animal buddies - Zoo stories between the Rhine and the Danube is a ZDF series that has been broadcast since October 2008. It is one of the German zoo documentary soaps and tells the everyday stories of the keepers and animals from the Duisburg Zoo , ZOOM Erlebniswelt Gelsenkirchen , Aquazoo Düsseldorf and other zoos in Germany. The first episode of the zoo docu-soap was broadcast on October 20, 2008, and a total of seven seasons were produced. In August 2010, the series was taken out of the ZDF program due to insufficient audience ratings.
