Eisbär, Affe & Co. is a zoo docu-soap from SWR that followed the series Panda, Gorilla & Co. on ARD's first broadcast. The series tells stories from Wilhelma in Stuttgart , with the animals and their keepers at the center .

The series was produced by av independents Film & TV GmbH . The editor is Friederike Barth from SWR.

Instead of the originally planned 39 episodes, the first season comprised 54 episodes. An average of 1.9 million viewers saw it when it was first broadcast from July 24th to October 20th, 2006 on ARD .

From September 2007 to February 2008, the 40 episodes of the second season were filmed in Wilhelma, which were broadcast from March 4, 2008 to May 2, 2008. From March 20 to May 22, 2009, the third season with 40 additional episodes was broadcast. The 40 episodes of the fourth season were broadcast from November 10, 2010 to January 10, 2011.

From February 9, 2017 to April 19, 2017, the fifth season was broadcast, which includes 41 episodes. Over several episodes, two animal keepers reported on the trip to the Senkwekwe Center supported by Wilhelma . Was shown u. a. the training of Bloodhound dogs to track down poachers, the occupation with the gorilla orphans living there and a trip to the mountain gorillas in the Virungu National Park . A summary of the recordings was shown in an extra broadcast on April 13, 2017. Episode 209, which was canceled due to the attack in Stockholm , was later broadcast in a number of third programs as part of the reruns.
