history
The association "aktion tier Tierrettung München eV" was founded in 2001 in Munich a . a. by the Munich lawyer and CSU City Councilor Dr. Evelyne Menges founded. When the company was founded, there were no home visits from veterinarians in Munich and no emergency doctors for animals. The foundation was largely financially supported by the association Aktion Tier - Menschen für Tiere , which is why the association is called "aktion tier Tierrettung München eV". Dr. Evelyne Menges has been chairwoman of the association since 2018.
tasks
An emergency number can be used around the clock, 365 days a year, to request the red ambulance vehicles of the Munich Animal Rescue Service with a veterinarian in the city of Munich and the surrounding area. Treatments are carried out at home or at the scene of the accident. If necessary, an injured animal can be transported to a veterinary clinic by Animal Rescue Munich . Since Tierrettung München is an emergency clinic, routine treatments such as vaccinations, deworming or surgery are not carried out. In 2013, the Munich animal rescue service had around 4,000 missions.
