Tii-Maria Romar (born August 9, 1986 in Korsholm ) is a former Finnish ski racer . She specialized in the disciplines of slalom and giant slalom , her brother Andreas is also a ski racer.

Career

Romar contested her first FIS race in November 2001 and achieved good results from the start. At the Finnish Championships in 2002 she already reached seventh place in slalom and ninth place in giant slalom. At the Junior World Championship in 2004 , she competed in all competitions and came eleventh in the combined ranking. In March 2004 she became the Finnish junior champion in giant slalom. From December 2005 Romar took part regularly in European Cup races. Without ever having scored there, she competed in the World Cup for the first time on January 27, 2006 . In the first two seasons she took part in a total of five races and never reached the finish.

The only countable World Cup result achieved Romar with the 22nd place in the slalom of Levi on November 15, 2008. This was followed by more regular starts in the World Cup, but no further points gains. In the European Cup she achieved by far the best result with second place in the Funäsdalen slalom on November 23, 2008. In February 2009 she took part in the slalom world championship in Garmisch-Partenkirchen , but could not qualify for the second round. She had to end the 2009/10 season in January due to an injury. From 2010 she studied at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City . She competed in FIS and university races in the United States until 2013 .
