Tijani Belaid (born September 6, 1987 in Paris ) is a Tunisian football player .

Club career

Belaid played for Paris FC in his youth and joined Inter Milan in 2004 . The midfielder made his professional football debut on matchday 38 of Serie A 2004/05 against Reggina Calcio , but otherwise played for the junior team Inters in the Campionato Primavera . His greatest success during this time was winning the Coppa Italia Primavera 2006. In January 2007, Inter loaned him to PSV Eindhoven , for which he remained without first division use and also played in the youth team.

In the summer of 2007, Belaid moved again on loan to Slavia Prague , where he moved into the UEFA Champions League with the team . In the first group game against Steaua Bucharest he scored the 2-1 winning goal. In the Czech league, Belaid was substituted on frequently at the start of the season, and on matchday six he was in the starting eleven for the first time. Two weeks later he scored two goals in the 7-1 Slavias against Tescoma Zlín .

In the 2008/09 season Belaid completed as a regular player 24 missions in which he scored nine goals, whereupon he was firmly committed by Slavia and signed a contract until June 30, 2012. After quarrels with coach Karel Jarolím , he should be awarded to FK Mladá Boleslav during the winter break of the 2009/10 season , but Mladá Boleslav renounced the player after a test.

In early 2011, Belaid was released from Slavia Prague. He then moved to the English second division club Hull City . During the summer break he left Hull again for APOEL Nicosia . During the 2011/12 winter break, he moved from there to the German second division club 1. FC Union Berlin , where he initially received a half-year contract. Despite starting difficulties with the Berliners, Union extended the contract for another year at the end of the season. In the winter break of 2012/13, however, they separated after Belaid had not prevailed in the team.

National team

After being called up for the Tunisian U17 national team , Belaid also played for the French U19 team. In the adult sector, he opted for his parents' homeland, Tunisia .
