The Mongolian lime ( Tilia mongolica ) is a plant from the genus of Linden ( Tilia ) in the family of the Malvaceae (Malvaceae). Your home is Mongolia and Northern China .
description
The Mongolian linden is a medium-sized tree that reaches heights of up to 10 m. The bark is gray. The egg-shaped buds are smooth. The stalked leaves are simple. The petiole is 2 to 3.5 cm long. The shiny leaves are red when they shoot and later take on a deep green color. Deviating from the shape of the more well-known species of linden, the leaves of the Mongolian linden are deeply lobed and the edge sawn. The leaf blade is 4 to 6 × 3.5 to 5.5 cm in size.
Six to twelve flowers stand together in a zymous inflorescence that is about 5 to 8 cm in size. The sepals are 4 to 5 mm in size. The petals are 6 to 7 mm in size. The stamens are 4 to 5 mm long. The staminodes are a little shorter. The ovary is hairy and the style is smooth.
The typically shaped fruits are comparatively small. The often pentagonal fruits have a diameter of 6 to 8 mm.
The number of chromosomes is 2n = 164.
