history

The legionary camp discovered in 2015 dates from Roman times .

Hof Till was first mentioned in 1257. It was owned by the Klever Counts . A parish church is mentioned in 1292, but was probably already in the 9th / 10th. Century existed, as the inscriptions of two today lost inscription stones testify. The baptismal font of the previous church around 1200 still exists today. Today's St. Vincentius church dates from the late 15th century and was completely renovated after 1850. In 1294, extensive colonization measures began in the Till area. Till belonged to the Klevischen Amt Monterberg in the 14th century and later to the Amt Kleverhamm .

South of Till is Moyland, first mentioned in 1307, where the knight Roland Hagedorn built Moyland Castle around 1350 . The Moyland Castle Museum has been housed here since 1997 . A Protestant church has existed near Moyland Castle since the second half of the 17th century. The French philosopher and writer Voltaire and the Prussian King Friedrich II, who was appointed that year, met at Moyland Castle in 1740 .

In the nearby Klever Reichswald and in the vicinity of today's village of Bedburg-Hau, the so-called battle in the Reichswald took place in February 1945 of the Second World War . After this battle, the Allies were able to build a bridgehead over the Rhine near Wesel and thus take the Ruhr area.

On July 1, 1969, Till-Moyland was incorporated into Bedburg-Hau.
