Tilmann Bünz (* 1957 in Hamburg ) is a German journalist , documentary filmmaker and book author.

Life

Tilmann Bünz is a graduate of the German School of Journalism (DJS) in Munich. Before that he studied a. a. Political science at the Universities of Hamburg and Munich . After completing his training, he did his community service from 1982 to 1984 with Aktion Sühnezeichen Friedensdienste in Amsterdam. From 1984 to 1988 he was head of studies at the Evangelical Academy in Tutzing and then switched to ARD-aktuell as an editor , where he worked for the Tagesschau and Tagesthemen until 1996 . From 1996 to 2002 Bünz worked for the Hamburg ARD office of the Norddeutscher Rundfunk as a reporter and editor. From 2002 he worked for five years as ARD foreign correspondent and head of the Stockholm studio for Scandinavia and the Baltic states.

Since 2008 Bünz has mainly been active as an author. With his books, which deal with Scandinavia, the Netherlands and the Baltic States, he has achieved great success. He also shoots TV documentaries a . a. about the turnaround in Eastern Europe and Germany's neighbors. In 2012/2013 he produced the three-part series People on the Edge of the World about Artkis for ARTE .
