Tim Brown (designer)

Tim Brown (born June 24, 1962 in Preston ) is an English industrial designer. He is CEO and President of IDEO , an international design and innovation consultancy. Brown is an important representative of the innovation method Design Thinking .

Life

Tim Brown graduated from the Royal College of Art in London in 1986 and has been with IDEO since 1987. From 1990 to 1995 he was head of the San Francisco office and from 1995 to 2000 he was head of European operations. In 2000 David Kelley made him CEO of IDEO. In 2005 he was appointed visiting professor of design at the University of Northumbria in Newcastle, England.

Tim Brown is married with two children.

Awards

In 2004 Tim Brown received an honorary doctorate from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena (USA) .
