John George "Tim" Coleman (born October 26, 1881 in Kettering , † November 20, 1940 ) was an English football player .

life and career

Coleman began his career at Kettering Town and Northampton Town . In 1902 he signed a contract with Arsenal FC . Coleman made his debut for the Gunners against Preston North End on September 6, 1902. In 1904 he rose to the top English division with Arsenal FC. After Arsenal FC had financial problems, Coleman moved to Everton FC in 1907 for a fee of £ 700 . After his one and a half years at Everton, Tim Coleman played at Sunderland AFC (1910-1911), Fulham FC (1911-1914) and Nottingham Forest (1914-1915). Internationally he was used once for England . Coleman played Ireland on February 16, 1907 . Due to the First World War , the Englishman ended his professional career and still played for amateur clubs such as Tunbridge Wells. He later worked as a trainer in the Netherlands . He died at the age of 59 in November 1940.
