Tim Cordßen (born February 21, 1976 in Bremen ) is a German political official . Since August 16, 2019, he has been the Bremen State Councilor to the Senator for Science and Ports of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen .

Life

After graduating from high school (1995), Cordßen completed his community service in a dormitory for mentally and multiply handicapped people at the Bremen workshop , before studying political science and law at the University of Bremen , which he graduated with a degree in political science . During his studies he was chairman of the General Student Committee of the University of Bremen and a member of the Academic Senate there.

Cordßen is a member of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD). From 2001 to 2006 he was honorary state manager of the state organization Bremen of the young socialists in the SPD, from 2006 to 2008 its state chairman. From 2003 to 2007 he was a member of the Deputation for Science in the Bremen Citizenship , in 2007 and 2008 as a member of the Deputation for Sport and between 2008 and 2011 as a member of the Deputation for Work and Health. After Cordßen had already worked as a clerk at the SPD Bremen in 2005 , he took on the role of speaker in the state office from 2009 to 2013.

In 2013, Cordßen became the personal advisor to the Bremen Senator for Economics, Labor and Ports, Martin Günthner . He was entrusted with this task in the Senates Böhrnsen III and Sieling until 2017 , before he took over the management of the Senator’s office and the function of the Senator’s press spokesman. With the formation of the Senate Bovenschulte , Cordßen took over the position of State Council for the newly appointed Senator for Science and Ports Claudia Schilling in August 2019 .
