Tim Gill

Tim Gill (born October 18, 1953 in Hobart , Lake County , Indiana ) is an American entrepreneur , computer scientist , software developer and LGBT activist.

Life

Tim Gill attended Wheat Ridge High School in Jefferson County , Colorado and then studied at the University of Colorado at Boulder . After graduating, he worked for Hewlett-Packard in California .

Gill is the developer of the QuarkXPress program . The program is a frame-oriented layout program from Quark . Gill founded this company in 1981 together with Marc Pope . He sold his 50 percent stake in the company in 2000, making him a multi-millionaire. Gill founded the GillFoundation , which supports LGBT projects and lobbying ( Gay & Lesbian Fund for Colorado ), among other things . He married Scott Miller in Massachusetts . The couple live in Denver .
