Tima Budsijewna Turijewa ( Russian Тима Будзиевна Туриева ; born June 22, 1992 ) is a Russian weightlifter . In 2013 she became world champion in the weight class up to 63 kg.

Career

Tima Turijewa comes from Chimki-Digora in the Russian republic of North Ossetia . It was there that she began lifting weights as a teenager. In 2011 she moved to Vladikavkaz because of the better training conditions and in 2013 to Moscow . Despite her young age, she developed into a world-class athlete in just a few years.

In 2008 she took 4th place at the Russian Junior Championship (U 17) in the weight class up to 63 kg with a duel of 175 kg (80-95). In 2009 she won at the same championship in the weight class up to 58 kg with the same performance as in 2008, the Russian junior championship. She was then used in the Junior World Championship (U 17), which took place in May 2009 in Chian Mai / Thailand, and increased in the weight class up to 58 kg in a duel to 186 kg (86-100). She won her first medal at an international championship in September 2009. She came here at the European Junior Championships (U 17) in Eilat in the weight class up to 63 kg in a duel on 200 kg (90-110) and thus took second place . In the tear she even became a junior European champion. That was her first international championship title that she won.

2010 Tima Turijewa was again Russian junior champion, but this time in the age group U 20. She came in the weight class up to 63 kg to 217 kg (96-121). In June 2010 she finished second at the Junior World Championship (U 20) in Sofia in the weight class up to 63 kg with 217 kg (98–119) behind the Chinese Li Yating, who came to 223 kg (98–125). Space. Exactly one year later, in June 2011, she won the Junior World Championship (U 20) in Penang. She achieved 229 kg (102–127) in a duel in the weight class up to 63 kg.

In 2012 Tima Turijewa became Russian junior champion (U 20) in the weight class up to 69 kg. Their performance was 237 kg (107–130). At the Junior World Championships (U 20) in Antigua, she starts in the same weight class and scored 234 kg (104-130) in a duel, but only reached 4th place. In December 2012, however, she became European Junior Champion (U 20) in Eilat. She achieved 238 kg (108–130) in a duel in the weight class up to 69 kg. At the end of 2012, because of the better training conditions, she moved from Vladikavkaz to Moscow and trained there in a performance center of the Russian Weightlifting Association.

In March 2013 she proved that she was right, because she increased in the Russian Junior Championship (U 23) in the weight class up to 69 kg in a duel to 247 kg (112-135). After that, she was specifically prepared for the Women's World Cup in Wrocław. Because of this she decided not to start at the Russian women's championship. All measures that had a positive effect at the World Cup, where she trained in the weight class up to 63 kg. Tima Turijewa achieved in Wrocław in a duel 252 kg (112-140) and won with these performances the world championship title in duels, in snatch and in pushing.

In April 2014 Tima Turijewa also became European champion in the weight class up to 63 kg in Tel Aviv. In the absence of equal competitors, she did not need to push her performance limits. It was therefore enough for her a duel of 236 kg (105-131) to win the title. She also won the gold medal in the individual disciplines of snatching and pushing.
