Timbo Mehrstein
Étienne "Timbo" Mehrstein (born April 8, 1977 in Forbach ) is a French musician ( violin ) of Gypsy Jazz .

Mehrstein comes from a family of musicians; Dino and Franko Mehrstein are also Manouche musicians. After taking violin lessons from his uncle Storo Mehrstein, he performed with Samson Schmitt at the age of 14 . From 1993 he performed at numerous European gypsy jazz festivals such as in Mont-de-Marsan , Strasbourg, Munich, Ile d'Oléron, d'Angers, Vincennes, Patrimonio, and also in the Duc des Lombards jazz club .
He recorded the album Djieske (2002) with Dorado and Samson Schmitt . The album Maré Tchavengé was also created under his own name with his Gypsy Jazz Ensemble , which includes Popots Winterstein , Benji Winterstein , Jean-Gérard Loescher, Mario Fantauzzi and Geisela Reinhardt . Stylistically he is influenced by Stéphane Grappelli, Didier Lockwood , Dorado Schmitt and Florin Nicolescu , but also appreciates the music of Stéphane Grappelli , Robbi Lakatos , Dorado Schmitt , Biréli Lagrène , Henri Salvador and Juliette Renauld .
