Timomatic
Timomatic (civil Tim Omaji ) is an Australian Pop - and R & B - singer , a songwriter and dancer . He became known on the one hand through his appearances in casting shows as well as through the single Set It Off .
biography
Life
When he was ten months old, he immigrated to Australia with his family from Nigeria . Timomatic was in a very musical family. He often played guitar with his father. At the age of 15, he was often called "Timomatic" by his friends.
Tim Omaji was born in Nigeria. Since his father was sent to Australia, he and his family immigrated there when he was ten months old. Timomatic has an older brother, an older sister and a younger sister. He came from a musical family, he often played guitar with his father and the rest of his family show their passion for song and dance. At the age of nine, Timomatic formed a band with his family and was the percussionist for that band. During the breaks in their shows, he imitated Michael Jackson's singing and dancing skills on stage . His parents have since moved back to Nigeria.
At the age of 15 he was named Timomatic by his friends for his hip hop dance skills . He was also the artistic director and choreographer of the Kulture Break dance company in Canberra . He represented Kulture Break with great success in the United States, China and Singapore. Timomatic graduated from Narrabundah when he was 12 and then spent six months at the University of Canberra until he failed. In 2008 he attended a music school for a year and received a diploma in entertainment in the vocal training category . Timomatic explained: "I did this because I wanted to make my voice scratch, that brought me the attention and focus on my music ..."
Career
In 2009 Timomatic was a finalist for the second season of So You Think You Can Dance Australia and reached the top eight.
In 2010 he took on the role of Tyrone Jackson in the Australian version of the game Fame the Musical . Timomatic later retired from his role in the musical due to a back injury. This led him to focus more on the production of music. Then Timomatic started writing songs with DJ Poet, the DJ of the Black Eyed Peas .
In 2011 Timomatic appeared as a contestant for the fifth season of Australia's Got Talent . He decided to prove in the show that he was more than just a dancer and chose Australia's Got Talent instead of The X Factor because it gave him full control of music, styling and so on. Timomatic finished third, Jack Vidgen emerged victorious.
On May 12, 2011 Timomatic released his independent debut album Welcome , which marked the start of his career. Save the Dancefloor was the first to be released. However, the song only appeared as a promo single on August 1, 2011.
In October 2011 Timomatic was the support act for the Australian tour of the American rapper Flo Rida . On November 17th it was announced that Timomatic had signed a contract with Sony Music Australia . On November 24th he was back as a support act, this time for the US hip-hop group Salt 'n' Pepa at their Australian concert at the Enmore Theater in Sydney.
Timomatics debut single Set It Off was released on November 25th. It was able to work its way up to number 2 on the Australian ARIA single charts and was awarded triple platinum by the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) for sales of over 210,000 copies. Set It Off also reached the New Zealand singles charts, placed 14th and achieved gold status for sales of 7,500 copies and received a gold record from the Recording Industry Association of New Zealand (RIANZ).
On January 12, 2012 it was announced that Timomatic had signed a global publishing deal with EMI Records. His second single If Looks Could Kill was released on March 23, 2012. It reached number 8 on the ARIA Singles Chart and was awarded double platinum for 140,000 units sold. In May 2012 Timomatic accompanied Nicki Minaj on her Pink Friday tour in Australia. His third single, Can You Feel It , was released on June 22, 2012. It reached number 18 on the ARIA Singles Chart. For this he got a gold record for 35,000 copies sold.
Timomatic accompanied Havana Brown and Taio Cruz and Pitbull on his Planet Pit World Tour in August 2012. His second, self-titled album was released on August 24, 2012th In September 2012 he performed live with the song Incredible . Just through downloads, this song entered the Australian and New Zealand singles charts and achieved gold status in Australia. On October 3, 2012, his song Set It Off was nominated for the Best Song of the Year award.
