Tin-Akoff

Tin-Akoff is a department and at the same time a municipality ( French commune rurale ) in the province of Oudalan in the Sahel region of the West African state of Burkina Faso .

Tin-Akoff lies on the banks of the Béli , the water of which is important for local livestock farming. To the south-east of the city there are large areas of Tigerbusch .

20,827 people live in the main town and its 14 villages, mainly Tuareg people . Iron Age finds were made in Tin-Akoff.

In the local elections, Tin-Akoff was the only municipality in the province of Oudalan in which the ruling CDP party was able to win over the CFD party, which dominated the province.

Tin-Akoff's market is well worth a visit.
