Tina (Christina) Frank (born February 24, 1970 in Tulln ) is an Austrian graphic designer , artist and university professor .

Life

Frank studied at the Höhere Graphische Lehr- und Versuchsanstalt (HGBLVA) in Vienna , after which she worked at MetaDesign from 1992 to 1994 . She has lived and worked as a graphic designer and artist in Vienna and Linz since 1995.

Her work has its roots in web design and the design of music packaging for experimental electronic music. In the mid-1990s she started working with real-time digital visualization, video and multimedia. Since then, she has performed at music, film and media festivals around the world. In 2006 the video chronomops won first prize at the Diagonale film festival for best experimental, animated or short film.

She founded companies in Vienna and Berlin. Her current focus of work is in the area of ​​editorial design, web design and data visualization, or in the experimental area of ​​the visualization of music. In 2007 her work was mentioned in the book Graphic Design for the 21st Century as one of the top 100 graphic designers worldwide .

Since October 2008, Tina Frank has been a professor of the Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design and Photography and Master of Visual Communication at the University of Art in Linz . She lectures internationally and publishes on design and music. Her artistic work revolves around forms of visualization of music.
