Tina Keeper

Tina Keeper OM (* 20th March 1962 in Norway House , Manitoba as Christina Keeper ) is a Canadian actress and former member of the Canadian House of Commons .

In the Canadian television series The Mounties of Lynx River , she played the lead role of Michelle Kenidi in all 90 episodes from 1992 to 1997 . For this role she was awarded the Gemini Award in 1997 . In 1994 she played the lead role of Rhonda Gordon in the short film For Angela . The short film received the Canada Award in 1994, among other things .

On July 15, 2002, she was awarded the Order of Manitoba . Keeper is a member of Norway House Cree Nation . In January 2006, she was elected to the House of Commons as a candidate for the Liberal Party of Canada in the Canadian General Election. In the 2008 general election she lost the candidacy for re-election.

She is the mother of two sons. Keeper is the great niece of cross-country skier Joe Keeper .
