Tino Thömel

Tino Thömel (born June 6, 1988 in Berlin ) is a German racing cyclist . He is considered a sprint specialist.

Career

Thömel began cycling at BSV ADW Berlin . In 2006 he was German junior champion in points race . After his junior years he joined the KED-Bianchi Team Berlin and was able to achieve his first significant success in the U23 edition of the one-day race around the financial center Eschborn-Frankfurt . He achieved further victories at the Tour de Berlin and the Tour of Alanya . He also won the overall ranking of the UIV Cup with Bastian Faltin in the 2009/10 season .

At the beginning of 2011 Thömel joined the newly founded Continental Team NSP and won stages in the Tour de Normandie , the Tour of Greece , the Szlakiem Grodów Piastowskich and the Tour of Upper Austria . At the end of the season he drove as a stagiaire for the Spanish Professional Continental Team Geox-TMC . He stayed with Team NSP until 2012 and won the overall ranking of the Tour du Loir-et-Cher in addition to other stages .

2014 he drove for the team in Stuttgart and won a stage of the Tour of China I . Despite this success, he struggled to get a new contract for the 2015 season, but was eventually signed by the Taiwanese RTS-Santic Racing Team . For this team he won stages of the Tour de Taiwan , the Tour de Korea , the Tour of Hainan and the Tour of Yancheng Coastal Wetlands in 2015 . After graduating from high school in 2016 and therefore starting his season later, he won a stage of the Tour of China II .
