history

Titan Media was founded in 1995 by Bruce Cam and Robert Kirsch to " eroticize safe sex and depict positive gay sexuality with a wide range of men in nature". As a result, only safer sex is practiced in all films produced; the company does not shoot any bareback scenes. In 2001, the company launched a mid- priced line of products under the ManPlay brand and launched a range of products featuring younger men under the TitanMen Fresh label . In 2005, Titan acquired the former gay porn film studio MSR and re-released their old videos on DVD .

In 2005, Titan Media released a film called Cirque Noir, starring Buck Angel , which first featured a trans man in an all-male film produced by a company specializing in gay porn. The decision to cast Buck Angel in one scene was hailed as a "seminal role" in the portrayal of trans men in gay porn, "the extent of which cannot be underestimated".

In 2008, they opposed a Charles Calderon bill to increase California porn tax to 25%. In 2011, Falcon Studios , Raging Stallion and Titan Media partnered with the anti-piracy company Porn Guardian .

Legal affairs

In November 2003, the Io Group filed a lawsuit against Larry Flynt Publications for alleged copyright infringement. She claimed that 220 photos by Titan Media had been published on LFP's own StudClub website.

In December 2003, the company asked the file-sharing website Kazaa to prohibit users from downloading 1,400 of its films. Titan claimed that Kazaa's owner, Sharman Networks, had the ability to monitor network activity through " spyware " installed on users' computers , and that it could use this facility to prevent its users from downloading its movies. In January 2004, Titan wrote to the Senate Judiciary Committee complaining that Kazaa had refused to cooperate. Kazaa told a Senate committee in 2003 that it would improve its content filters to help users avoid objectionable material.

In 2007, Titan sought $ 2.7 million in damages for copyright infringement and other alleged violations of GayForIt, a video hosting website.

In March 2010, Channel 1 Releasing, Corbin Fisher Entertainment and Titan Media / Io Group filed a US $ 29 million lawsuit against the two operators of three pornographic websites for allegedly infringing copyright laws in more than 200 cases.

In spring 2010, Titan Media won a default judgment of $ 1.35 million against Antelope Media, which operates MonsterCockTube.com. US District Judge Maxine Chesney passed the verdict after the defendants failed to appeal. MonsterCockTube.com remains owned by Antelope Media. No further legal action has been taken against Antelope Media.

In 2011, her anti-piracy motion was denied by Judge Susan Illston.
