Nor-Eddine Aouam

Nor-Eddine Aouam ( Arabic نور الدين عوام, DMG Nūr ad-Dīn ʿAuwām ; Born January 12, 1957 ) is an Algerian diplomat .

Life

In 1980 he graduated from the National School of Administration in diplomacy. From 1982 to 1984 he worked in the legal department of the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs until he took over the management of the Ministry's Africa department from 1984 to 1985 .

In 1985 he went to the Algerian embassy in Ethiopia in Addis Ababa , until in 1989 he moved to Cairo as an advisor to the embassy in Egypt . In 1990 he returned to Algeria and worked as Deputy Director for Multilateral Agreements in the Legal Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He held this position until 1994 and then went to the embassy in Germany in Bonn . In 1999 he was appointed deputy director in the Department of Multilateral Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In 2000 he became Chief of Staff of the Minister for Affairs of the Maghreb and Africa.

In 2004 he became Algerian ambassador to Ethiopia and Djibouti and permanent representative of his country to the African Union . In 2009 he moved back to the Foreign Ministry, where he became Director General for Africa. From 2012 to 2014 he was Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

On March 27, 2014 he was accredited as ambassador to Germany .
