Titia Ex

"The Walk" is an LED display in the shape of a sphere. The work is inspired by Dante's Divine Comedy and the name The Walk refers to Dante's journeys to Hell, Purgatory, and ultimately Heaven.

'Dolmen Light' wins Lamp Lighting Solutions Award 2015

Titia Ex (born November 2, 1959 in Kerkrade ) is a Dutch artist who works with light installations , light sculptures and film. Their work is usually seen as conceptual art. She lives and works in Amsterdam . The international broadcaster Deutsche Welle describes her and four other European artists as "masters of light".

Works

Titia Ex works with light in the broadest sense: daylight , artificial light and various materials such as glass, neon and LEDs . She found international recognition with her Flower from the Universe . Her work The Waiting was the winner in the "Landscape" category for the People's Choice Awards 2013. The "Dolmen Light Tunnel" was the winner in the city and landscape lighting category for the 2015 Lamp Lighting Solutions Award.

  • Trip to Jerusalem : Dance of the chairs without people on the roof of a restaurant in Apeldoorn (Netherlands).
  • The Walk : A light installation in the shape of a globe developed by Philips Color Kinetics. The artwork is inspired by Dante's La Divina Commedia and the name The Walk refers to Dante's journey to Hell, Purgatory, and ultimately Heaven.
  • Flower from the Universe : Components include sensors, hand-molded glass and clear LED light.
  • Dolmen Light : functional, loved and safe.
