In 1985 he equipped his first own ship, the Ecureuil-d'Aquitaine I , with which he took part in numerous regattas , including the BOC Challenge , the Transat Québec Saint-Malo and the C Star . Lamazou took part in the newly created Vendée Globe in 1990, where he won with his Ecureuil-d'Aquitaine II . At the Route du Rhum in the same year, he finished eleventh in the overall ranking. Together with Florence Arthaud , Titouan Lamazou founded the Trophée Jules Verne in 1991 , a competition for circumnavigation records. Two years later, the Tag Heuer was completed, the largest regatta monohull built to date in composite construction ( matériaux composites ). After its sinking, he ended his career as a professional sailor and devoted himself to a project that he himself called the bâteau atelier . This high seas studio is open to artists from all over the world who want to work there.
