Titular diocese of Eleutherna

Eleutherna also Apollonia , is a titular bishopric of the Roman Catholic Church .

It goes back to a former bishopric of the ancient city of the same name on the Greek island of Crete , about 25 kilometers southeast of Rethymno . Eleutherna became famous through the excavations of the archaeologist Petros Themelis .
