Titular Vita
The diocese Vita ( Italian diocesi di Vita , Latin Dioecesis Vitensis ) is a titular diocese of the Roman Catholic Church .
It goes back to an early Christian bishopric in the city of the same name, which was located in the Roman province of Byzacena in North Africa. Victor von Vita was one of the few known bishops of Vita . The diocese survived the migration of peoples under Vandal and later Byzantine rule ( Exarchate of Carthage ), but went under in the course of Islamic expansion . It was not until 1933 that the diocese was restored as a Roman titular diocese.
