The Tiw Valley is a valley in East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Asgard Range , it is east of the Odin Valley .
The valley is one of a number of geographical features in the area that have names from Norse mythology . The namesake here is Tyr ( Old English Tiw ), god of battle and victory. The designation took place in 1976 on the proposal of the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names after consultation with the New Zealand Antarctic Place-Names Committee .
