Tobias Barnerssoi (born June 19, 1969 in Eichstätt ) is a German sports reporter and former ski racer .

biography

Barnerssoi, who attended the Hohenschwangau boarding school, was the best German giant slalom racer behind Markus Wasmeier in the 1990s, but without making the big breakthrough. Although he took part in some world championships and Olympic Games, he did not win a medal. He was a member of the German national ski team from 1988 to 1999.

At the World Championships in Saalbach-Hinterglemm in 1991 he finished tenth in the giant slalom and at the Olympic Games in Lillehammer in 1994, a 15th place in the giant slalom and 14th place in the combination were his best results. He also took part in the World Championships in Morioka in 1993 and in Sierra Nevada in 1996. The Eichstätter achieved the highest world ranking position with 7th place in the 1994 season.

Between 1991 and 1998 Tobias Barnerssoi won six German championships , four in giant slalom (1991, 1993, 1994, 1995) and two in Super-G (1997, 1998). He was also runner-up in the giant slalom in 1987 and 1997 and in 1993 in the Super-G. In the 1992 World Cup, he finished fourth. He achieved his only two podium finishes in the World Cup, both in the giant slalom, in the 1993/94 season: in December he finished second behind Christian Mayer in Val d'Isere and third behind Fredrik Nyberg and Matteo Belfrond in Kranjska Gora at the beginning of January .

Today Barnerssoi, who studied sports economics at the University of Bayreuth between 1997 and 2004 and wrote his thesis at the chair of civil lawyer Peter W. Heermann , works as a freelance writer and interviewer for Bavarian television . It is also used in the context of ARD broadcasts. There he was engaged in cross-country skiing until 2007. Today Barnerssoi mainly comments on the men's Alpine World Cups and reported on the snowboard and ski cross competitions at the 2010 Olympic Games . In 2018 he reported again from the Olympic Games from Pyeongchang .
