Tobias Damm (born October 30, 1983 in Homberg (Efze) ) is a German football player in the forward position . He has been the trainer of KSV Hessen Kassel since October 2019 .

career

First Damm played in the youth team at SV 07 Falkenberg (municipality of Wabern ). In 1987 he moved to FC Homberg 1924 and played there until 2003. Then he went to TSV Wabern for a year and then in 2004 to the Hessian league promoted 1. FC Schwalmstadt .

In 2005 Damm moved to the south-west upper division 1. FSV Mainz 05 II . On February 11, 2006, the attacker made his debut in the final phase of the Bundesliga match between Hamburger SV and 1. FSV Mainz 05 in the top German division for the Mainz team. At the beginning of the 2006/07 season, Damm was part of the Mainz Bundesliga squad and was regularly in the starting line-up for the first few weeks. His only Bundesliga goal was scored by Damm on the first match day of the 2006/07 season in the match against newly promoted VfL Bochum (final score: 2-1).

In the winter break of 2006/07 Damm was loaned to Wuppertaler SV Borussia ( Regionalliga Nord ) until the end of the season, for whom he scored nine goals in 17 games this season. He initially returned to Mainz 05 after the end of the season. Shortly before the start of the season (August 2007) Damm moved back to Wuppertal because he hadn't been able to prevail against his fellow strikers at Mainz 05 in the preparation for the season. In Wuppertal he received a contract for a term of three years.

From the 2010/11 season, Damm played in the fourth-class Regionalliga Süd and later Southwest for KSV Hessen Kassel . In his first season he scored the most goals for the club with 15 goals. His contract in Kassel ran until summer 2017. At the same time, he works for Volkswagen. At the last home game of the 2016/17 season, Damm announced the end of his career as a player; he remained connected to KSV as assistant coach from the 2017/18 season; first in the regional league, then from 2018/19 in the five-class Hessen league. On October 9, 2019, he took over the team as head coach after the club separated from Dietmar Hirsch . Together with assistant coach Sebastian Busch, Damm signed a contract extension as head coach until 2021 in December 2019. In the 2019/20 season, which was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic , he rose with the team as second-placed in the fourth-class regional league.

In the period from October 2002 to June 2003, Damm completed his basic military service in Schwarzenborn, Hesse . He completed an apprenticeship as a foundry mechanic at the Volkswagen plant in Baunatal .

Damm is married and has two children.
